Frazzled then settled

Things have gone a little apeshit since I last posted. The relationship between my mom and my aunt had come to it's inevitable, nasty end. My sister and I put mom on a train to california, to live with my papa nerd, and I moved in with my boyfriend (who's inner fatty I named Gunter). Things have, after a month, begun to settle. I haven't lost any weight, but vice versa, I haven't gained any either. Even my IBS has so far been under control (yay). I got accepted into college and I'm starting in the fall. I'll try my best to post more soon!

Go back inside, Agnes!

They're your inner fatties for a reason!! It has come to my attention that my own bad food habits (compulsive overeating, boredom snacking) have caught up with me, my addiction to caffeine and high soda consumption proving equally counterproductive. Now while I do not know my exact weight, the majority of my jeans under size 16 have become snug or tight enough to cut you in half when you sit down. It's not just diet that has given Agnes a way to escape, My lack of exercise and erratic sleep schedule certainly doesn't help.

Admitting to and acknowledging the fact that I have these problems is all well and good, but figuring out what to do about it is a whole another boss fight! Diets plans are a bitch to stick to, not to mention a good number of them taste like crap. Compulsive eating is an impulse much like biting your nails, both of which I'm trying to put a lid on, and both of which are annoyingly difficult habits to drop.

I think it's safe to say food has indeed become the center of my day. I have a toasted bagel with cream cheese, and it's delicious and all that jazz, but it doesn't feel like enough, and 20 minutes later I want another one. That's pretty much how it goes for me. Self-esteem drops as Agnes gets closer to the exit, and I lost the net I would use to drag her back inside. Looks like I'll have to find a way to chase the fluffy little brat down myself.

Lead Agnes not into temptation...

You know how you suddenly find yourself craving a burger or a certain dessert after seeing a picture of it online or an ad on TV?

Turns out there's a word for the whole culture of yummy images; Foodporn.

Not pornographic images, but photos of various dishes and desserts that make you want to jump through the screen and eat the offending dish. Depending on the person, some dishes hold more temptation than others. My weakness being burgers or macaroni and cheese. Although it's always important to resist the temptation to overeat, sometimes foodporn can spark inspiration to try a new dish or to expand your cooking skill.

New question for you readers; What dish do you automatically crave after seeing a picture of it online or where ever?

When Agnes was little

As children, we all had certain foods that we always jumped for joy when served. For me, it was macaroni and cheese with chopped hot dogs and peas. As an adult, I still light up with glee when I eat it. As for my mom, it's fudge royal ice cream, jumping for it every chance she gets.

Now my question to you readers is this; what was the one food you adored as a child, that you still love now as an adult?? Feel free to leave your answer in the comments!

welcome back, Agnes!

I noticed I haven't written on this in a long time, and for that, I apologize. I'd had some issues with writer's block and I promise I'll make a real post as soon as I can.

Agnes' Medicine

Sometimes if you're having a bout of insomnia or have been sick where it affects your appetite, you'll get a monster case of the munchies. One way of looking at it is this: When you're not sleeping, your body needs fuel to keep going. So you find yourself snacking on whatever you can get your hands on, never feeling actually full.

The other situation I'm pointing out here is when one is sick for a while, and once they start to start to get better, they feel hungry all the time. This can be seen as your body wanting fuel so it can recover, so it's like you're eating to help your body heal.

When Agnes goes AWOL

Okay, we've spoken about how we stuff our faces for various reasons, but what about the other times, when you just don't want anything?

Ealier this morning I had the usual sick-hungry feeling I get pretty often, but when I got up to go eat, I just didn't want it. Lack of appetite is about as common as when your stomach feels like a bottomless pit. I mean, we can't overdo it all the time, now can we? Sometimes we tumble over to the other side of the inner fattie spectrum that I like to call chubby ruts. They suck, but they happen. Kinda makes you appreciate the comfy cravings when you get them.
